Kahoa Elementary School is the 2009-2010 Winner! This award was established to recognize a school in the district which has achieved the best overall performance for recognition. Based on the review of actual performance relative to the annual goals set by the school, only quantifiable goals related directly to achieving quality or quantum improvement in core educational programs are considered.

Important Driver Information

Traffic Pattern for Pick-up and Drop-off at “Kahoa at Abbott”

The curb area next to the Abbott building is reserved for buses transporting Kahoa students to and from the Kahoa attendance area. There will be no parking allowed during any part of the day next to the building.

Kahoa staff parking will be the first two rows of stalls nearest to the Abbot building (east side of the lot). Parent and visitor parking is restricted to the three stall areas behind staff parking and nearest to Abbott field (west side of the lot).

When children are picked-up or dropped off, drivers cannot drive between the immediate parking spaces flanked by the buses and the first line of parked cars. Parent/Guardians must park in designated stalls and walk children to the building through the main crosswalk to drop-off and/or pick-up children.

Parent/Guardians picking up students will be allowed to wait outside the building on the sidewalk area. During severe, inclement weather, a staff member will determine when parent/guardians may enter the building.

Every day, Kahoa staff will be present while students are unloading and loading buses. Children are never to exit the building and enter the parking lot between buses. They must always use the main walk ways and be escorted by a responsible adult!
