Transportation/school driving routes

1). During the arrival (8:30-9:00 a.m.) and dismissal (3:00-3:45) times of the school day we ask that parents/guardians not park and leave their cars unattended in the drop off/pick up lane in front of the school building. It is important to keep the traffic flow moving by adults staying with their vehicles and students only entering/exiting on the passenger side.

2). The cut out lane on Leighton Avenue is reserved for LPS buses and childcare vans only.

3). We encourage parents of 3rd-5th grade students to use the cutout lane on Willard Ave. for drop off and pick up. Students can then walk up to their school entrance through the playground entrances on Willard Ave.

4). Please do not double park when dropping off or picking up students in the front drop off lane or any sidewalk cutout areas around the school.

5). Please exit the drop off /pick up lane by taking a right onto North 76th Street.

6). When approaching the school on Leighton Ave. from the west please do not allow your student to exit your vehicle on Leighton Ave. and cross in the middle of the street.

Immunizations/physical requirements

Parents need to provide a student immunization record in order to enroll in school. The requirements and approved waiver form are listed on the Health Services website, which has lots of other health-related information.  Still have a question? Call our Health Services team at 402-436-1000.

Volunteer sign-up

We appreciate all the support from our Kahoa families. This is a friendly reminder that for the safety of our students and volunteers, you must first fill out an application before volunteering in an LPS school. Parents are asked to complete this process every 3 years. The application can be accessed at the link below or through the LPS Home Page (left hand side of page).

ParentVue/StudentVue

Elementary students and parents/guardians can get secure access to report card grades, assignments, and attendance information through Synergy ParentVUE and StudentVUE. ParentVUE is not intended to replace direct communication between students/parents/teachers or other school staff members.

You can learn a lot more here – http://home.lps.org/training/parentvue-lps-parent-portal-for-student-information/ – but you can get this information via web or mobile apps. An activation key is required to login to Synergy ParentVUE and StudentVUE.  If you are a new student to Lincoln Public Schools you can get your activation key from the school office.

Breakfast

Did you know that we offer a school breakfast?

Students will have the choice of selecting either a cold breakfast (e.g. cereal) or hot breakfast (e.g. mini pancakes). In addition to the entrée students will receive 100% fruit juice, low fat milk and are given the option of choosing a half cup serving of fruit.

Breakfast at school is affordable, too. A full breakfast costs less than convenience store items. If you qualify for free and reduced price meals, you also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork. You’ll find that breakfast only costs $1.30 for full paid elementary students or $.30 for reduced priced students. http://www.lps.org/post/detail.cfm?id=86

Students coming for breakfast should not arrive prior to 8:25 and can line up outside the main entrance. Doors for breakfast will be opened at 8:30.
